On average, the total duration of the experience — from the initial meeting point to landing — is about 1.5 hours. However, we recommend keeping 2 full hours free, as we may occasionally need to wait a bit for optimal wind conditions before takeoff.
What if the weather is bad?
If weather conditions don’t allow us to fly, you’ll have the option to either reschedule or receive a full refund of your deposit. Since weather decisions require expertise, only our team of pilots will determine whether it’s safe to proceed or if the flight must be cancelled.
How do I get to the meeting point?
The meeting point is located right at the starting station of the Monte Lema cable car in Miglieglia, exactly here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vvithdJE126C6NFm7
There are several ways to get there:
1) By car
This is the fastest and most convenient option. A large free parking lot is available directly next to the cable car station. The drive from Lugano takes approximately 35 minutes.
2) By Uber
Uber is a practical alternative. The ride from Lugano usually costs around CHF 70, but this may vary depending on traffic and your exact departure point. We recommend checking the current fare directly in the Uber app before your trip.
3) By public transport
Miglieglia is also accessible by public transport. The bus stop is right next to the cable car station: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jqJoAnGK5aF9i8Pa7
We recommend using Google Maps selecting the “public transport” option to find the most suitable route based on your departure location. From Lugano, you can either take a bus with one transfer (total travel time approx. 60 minutes), or a combination of train and bus.
To do this, take the FLP regional train from this smaller station in Lugano:

Get off at Magliaso FLP station (exact location:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/G5omLiQ7ZFKAkfL29)
and from there, take bus 423 to the stop Miglieglia, Paese (approx. 20 minutes).
Where does the landing take place?
The landing takes place exactly at this spot. It’s a wide field located just a 5-minute walk from the cable car entrance, and it’s easily accessible even for those who wish to watch the landing.
What should I wear?
- Footwear
Trekking shoes are ideal, but sturdy sneakers or running shoes also work well. What matters most is that they’re comfortable and allow you to run smoothly during takeoff.
- Clothing
We recommend wearing lightweight long pants. During warmer months, shorts are also fine, as long as conditions permit. Always bring a sweater (even in summer!) and a windbreaker, as it can feel up to 15°C cooler in the air than on the ground. If we determine at takeoff that a jacket isn’t necessary, you can easily store it in the rear pocket of the harness.
- Accessories
We suggest bringing sunglasses — they help protect against both sun and wind during the flight. Helmets and gloves are provided by us.
Can I bring my personal belongings with me during the flight?
Yes! There’s space behind the pilot’s harness where you can store a small backpack. Be sure to bring your phone too — at the end of the flight, we’ll upload your photos and videos directly onto your device using a small adapter!
How long is the flight itself?
Typical flight times are around 15 minutes for the Standard Flight and about 30 minutes for the Deluxe Flight.
Note: These durations may vary (sometimes significantly) depending on weather, wind strength, and thermal lift conditions.
Can I use my own GoPro or camera?
Unfortunately not. For safety reasons — especially during flight maneuvers and to avoid any risk of dropping items — all personal objects must be stored securely in the rear compartment of the harness before takeoff. Only FlyTicino pilots are authorized to take photos and record video during the flight.
Can I pay by credit card?
By default, payment is expected in cash (CHF) after the flight. If preferred, we also accept euros, with a fixed exchange rate of EUR 1 = CHF 0.90. Credit card payments are accepted upon request, with an additional fee of CHF 20 per passenger to cover transaction costs.
What is your cancellation policy?
Once your booking is confirmed, you’re free to cancel at any time, provided you give us at least 15 days’ notice before the flight date. In that case, you’ll receive a full refund of your deposit. For cancellations with shorter notice, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions.
Is the landing impact rough?
At FlyTicino, we’ve developed a special landing technique where the passenger remains seated, lifts their legs, and gently slides onto a cushion while the pilot runs behind them (click here to watch a video). This approach makes for a smooth and comfortable landing, even suitable for older guests or those with leg issues.
We look forward to flying with you soon!
